| Some thoughts:
- I don't know how to handle graduate school in a healthy way. I want to do well yet I don't want my life to be consumed with school. This is an impossible task to achieve. Either you: a) Only do school, never relax, and in my case go insane or you b) spend time with friends, enjoy life, and get mediocre grades. Neither of these choices are satisfactory. So I'm going crazy. I try to do things with friends (well, the one or two that I have), spend time with Ryan, relax...and I do poorly, thus stressing me out as IF I spent all of my time studying, yet without the reward of actually doing well in my classes. Thus, I end up an emotional wreck (as I am at the moment), and I will not get into any PhD programs.
- I need something to look forward to. Right now there is nothing.
- No one will read this (Who uses Xanga these days?), and if they do, they won't care. Or realize the state that I actually am in.
- If you do read this and you live in Ohio, I'm visiting soon. I hope to see you. Although I have to spend most of my time there in the Malone Library working on a thirty pager. See above bullet point. Then punch me in the face.
| i decided that since i never write in here maybe it was time to. things with me have been good, though sometimes overwhelming. i have some amazing classes this semester including: latin (the least amazing, for me!), church history (reformation to modern period), 'learning theology with c.s. lewis,' and 'the first seven ecumenical councils.' these will all be interesting but some of them are considerably more work than most classes, which makes it hard to keep the perspective that they are amazing and that i have an amazing opportunity.
i also really want a dog. it's the only thing i can think about lately. or, at least a cat, if nothing else. both are pretty sweet.
i'm finally starting to have some friends around here, which is good. and of course mr. walter has been the best company that i could ever ask for. he recently was officially hired at his job, which he had just been temping at before that. hooray!! anyway, he is a good good man, as anyone who has ever met him knows.
if you want to, please pray for me in school! sometimes it is so hard and overwhelming that i wonder why i ever came here. i don't want to have that attitude though!
anyway, that is a short update on me i love you guys!
| umm, if you would like to receive email updates from me about what i'm doing at school and in life (probably a tad different than what i may write in here...), let me know. and by 'let me know', i mean, give me your email address.
my computer died this week, and i decided to upgrade to a macbook. i have had it for less than 24 hours. i got a free printer with it, but it didn't come with a much needed usb cable. dummbbb! i guess that's why they say there's no such thing as a free lunch (or, printer).
school is overwhelming, and i hardly have time for anything else. it can be frustrating. thankfully last week we had a surprise visit from kevin pike and also got to see mr and mrs ziegler. that was grand. this weekend i have to go on a required spiritual formation retreat (thankfully only 24 hours), and then the weekend after that it's off to maryland to go to the rennaisance festival with bethany. i wonder if katie hughes' mom will be there.
i love you guys!

| i have a new cell phone number on verizon (finally!). you should get in touch with me somehow (email, AIM, facebook), if you want it, because i'm not posting it on xanga!
anyway, i am settling in to my apartment and things are going well. not much to say until school starts, though. orientation starts next tuesday for my program, so if you think of it...keep me in your prayers.
Ryan has a new job, and that's going well for him, as well. It's at a pharmaceutical company in a chemistry lab doing quality control. He likes it a lot.
Hooray!
Oh yeah...you should probably come visit me.
